Play Update | 2026–27's Regional Championship Qualifier Events, Promos, and More

The Road to the 2026-27 Regional Championships Begins

The latest round of Regional Championship Qualifiers (RCQs) is currently underway, and Magic players across the globe are testing their skills in both Standard and Limited formats. As 2026 continues, Wizards of the Coast is preparing for the next round of RCQs, bringing a fresh series of events, new promo cards, and more opportunities for players to start their competitive Magic journey.

Upcoming Regional Championship Qualifiers (April 4–August 2)

The second round of RCQs for 2026 will begin on April 4 and run until August 2. All Wizards Play Network (WPN) stores and destination event organizers will be hosting RCQs that feed into the upcoming round of Regional Championships for 2026-27 during this window.

For this round, RCQs at WPN game stores can be held as Modern Constructed or Limited events. Larger "destination" qualifiers, such as those held in hotel ballrooms or convention centers, may feature other Constructed formats. Players should check with their local organizers for specific event details.

The product lineup for Limited RCQs may vary depending on the event date, as this round will span multiple booster releases. Participants are encouraged to consult with their organizers for the latest information.

Wizards has revealed the promo cards that players will be competing for at these RCQs. All participants will receive a non-foil Ancient Stirrings promo card with art by SimzArt, while top finishers will also earn a non-foil Sowing Mycospawn promo card with art by Nathan Jurevicius. Qualifiers for the Regional Championships will additionally receive a traditional foil Sowing Mycospawn promo.
