Four New Ways to Play Marvel in Commander

On June 26, 2026, Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes brings a wave of Avengers, villains, and cosmic threats into Commander with four ready-to-play decks. Each one leans on a different corner of the Marvel universe and a different Commander archetype, from equipment-and-counters aggro to a four-headed value engine. Below is a rundown of each deck's plan, its commander, and a few of the standout cards worth knowing before the prerelease weekend. Full 99/100-card decklists for every deck are linked at the end of each section.

Avengers Assemble - Equipment and S.H.I.E.L.D. Tempo

Captain America, Team Leader
Captain America, Team Leader - the Jeskai (RWU) commander leading the Avengers Assemble precon

Led by Captain America, Team Leader with Director Nick Fury as a secondary commander, this Jeskai (red-white-blue) deck is built around suiting up creatures with Equipment and snowballing combat value with counters. Heavy hitters like Iron Man, Armored Avenger, Thor, Asgard's Avenger, and Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings reward an aggressive, go-wide-then-go-tall game plan, while pieces like Hulkbuster Armor and a trio of new Avengers-branded lands and rocks smooth out the mana. If you enjoy Voltron-style strategies where one creature becomes an unstoppable threat covered in gear, this is the deck to grab.

Wakanda Forever - Artifacts and the Monarch

T'Challa, the Black Panther
T'Challa, the Black Panther - commands the Selesnya (GW) Wakanda Forever precon alongside Shuri

This Selesnya (green-white) precon is led by T'Challa, the Black Panther and Shuri, the Black Panther, and it channels Wakanda's vibranium technology into a classic artifacts-and-the-monarch shell. Big-mana artifact payoffs like Metalwork Colossus, Gilded Lotus, and Helm of the Host sit alongside Wakanda-flavored equipment such as Vibranium Strike Gauntlets and the Royal Talon Fighter Jet. Divine Visitation turns the deck's token generators into an army of Angels, and ramp staples like Birds of Paradise and Nature's Lore help it hit its artifact-heavy curve on time.

The Fantastic Four - Four Commanders, One Family

Mister Fantastic
Mister Fantastic - one of four interchangeable face commanders for the four-color Fantastic Four precon

The most colorful deck of the bunch is a four-color (non-black) build that can be commanded by any of Invisible Woman, Mister Fantastic, Human Torch, or The Thing - the precon ships with four borderless versions of the team so you can pick your favorite face. The deck's identity is built around triggering noncreature spells multiple times: Recurring Insight, Expressive Iteration, and Galvanic Iteration stack value, while the looming threat of Galactus, Devourer of Worlds and his herald Silver Surfer, Galactus's Herald give the deck a genuine top end. It's Clobberin' Time! and Flame On! round out a deck that wants to bury the table in incremental card advantage before closing with cosmic-scale threats.

Doom Prevails - Villains, Theft, and Connive

Doctor Doom, King of Latveria
Doctor Doom, King of Latveria - the Grixis (UBR) tyrant at the helm of Doom Prevails

The villain-themed deck of the set, Doom Prevails pairs Doctor Doom, King of Latveria with Loki, the Deceiver in Grixis (blue-black-red) colors. The deck's connive mechanic either pumps your Villains or drains the table, and threats like Ultron, Unlimited, Kang Prime, and Titania, Proud Pummeler back up a plan built on theft and disruption - cards such as Vandalblast, Toxic Deluge, and Chaos Warp clear the way for Doom's master plan. Endless Ranks of HYDRA and The Frightful Four add a token-swarm backup plan if the bombs get answered.

Loki, the Deceiver

Which One Should You Pick Up?

All four decks ship at 99-100 cards and are also available in a Collector's Edition with surge-foil treatments for every card. If you want a straightforward Voltron beatdown, Avengers Assemble is the easiest to pilot. Players who like grindy artifact value should look at Wakanda Forever, while fans of card-advantage engines topped off with a giant finisher will enjoy The Fantastic Four. And if disruption, theft, and a villainous game plan sound appealing, Doom Prevails delivers exactly that. Whichever you choose, all four decklists are browsable on MTG Picker's precon decklists page, where you can also clone any list straight into the deck builder to start planning your upgrades ahead of the June 26 release.
