Draft & Sealed Synergies

Best cards to pair with Jiang Yanggu, Alone in Reality Fracture limited

common

Eardrum Rattler

Creature — Human Bard

Eardrum Rattler makes a creature with power 2 or less unblockable, enabling Jiang Yanggu to attack a player alone more easily, triggering his discard-draw and counter-stacking ability.

Whiplash Wordsmith // Vicious Verse

Creature — Vampire Sorcerer // Sorcery

Vicious Verse deals 1 damage to an opponent (noncombat damage), and Whiplash Wordsmith gains flying and haste when an opponent was dealt noncombat damage, making it an ideal attacker to trigger Jiang Yanggu's solo attack ability.

Tam's Resistance

Sorcery

Tam's Resistance puts a +1/+1 counter on a creature and gives it vigilance, and Jiang Yanggu stacks +1/+1 counters on creatures that attack alone, so the vigilance lets that creature attack and still block, maximizing the counter accumulation.

uncommon

Yuriko, Blade of the Mighty

Legendary Creature — Human Samurai

Yuriko gives a creature double strike when it attacks a player alone, and Jiang Yanggu rewards attacking alone with card draw and counters, making solo attacks extremely rewarding with both legends in play.

rare

Master of Barbs

Creature — Lizard Bard

Jiang Yanggu's ability deals noncombat-adjacent effects through discarding and drawing, and Master of Barbs gives all your creatures +1/+0 whenever opponents take noncombat damage, synergizing with any burn spells you cast alongside Jiang.
