Draft & Sealed Synergies

Best cards to pair with Academic Ascent in Reality Fracture limited

common

Fatehold Chronologist // Peer Review

Creature — Bird Wizard // Sorcery

Fatehold Chronologist already has flying, and Academic Ascent gives it +2/+2 plus flying redundantly while empowering Jace, making it a formidable aerial attacker that also advances your planeswalker strategy.

Surgical Precision

Sorcery

Both cards are cheap white spells that provide combat tricks and card advantage, and together they give you flexible options to either pump a creature with Academic Ascent or remove a threat with Surgical Precision while building your Jace token.

Shatterwing Pegasus

Creature — Pegasus

Shatterwing Pegasus already flies, and Academic Ascent makes it a 4/4 flier that can trade up or push through significant damage, while the Empower Jace 2 bonus adds loyalty to your planeswalker token.

uncommon

Prudent Fateseer // Peer Review

Creature — Dwarf Wizard // Sorcery

Prudent Fateseer buffs your creatures when you scry or surveil, and Academic Ascent's Empower Jace 2 creates a Jace token whose surveil ability can then trigger Prudent Fateseer's bonus, creating a synergistic loop.

rare

Repurposed Enforcer

Creature — Human Soldier

Repurposed Enforcer empowers Jace when it attacks, and Academic Ascent gives it flying to make it unblockable in many situations, maximizing the Jace counters it generates while dealing combat damage.
