Draft & Sealed Synergies

Best cards to pair with Thorin's Last Stand in The Hobbit limited

common

Esgaroth Garrison
Esgaroth Garrison
Creature — Human Soldier

Thorin's Last Stand's first mode gives all creatures +2/+1 until end of turn, and Esgaroth Garrison's power scales with creature count — in a wide board, this pump can turn Esgaroth Garrison into a massive attacker.

 Dwarven Shortsword
Dwarven Shortsword
Artifact — Equipment

Dwarven Shortsword creates a 2/2 Dwarf token, and Thorin's Last Stand's second mode can destroy an artifact or enchantment while gaining 2 life — together they provide both board presence and flexible removal.

 Well-Worn Spatula
Well-Worn Spatula
Artifact — Equipment

Well-Worn Spatula is a cheap Equipment that boosts a creature, and Thorin's Last Stand's second mode can destroy opposing artifacts or enchantments while gaining life, giving you both offense and disruption.

uncommon

Eagle of the Great Shelf
Eagle of the Great Shelf
Creature — Bird Soldier

Eagle of the Great Shelf already gets +1/+1 for each other creature when attacking, and Thorin's Last Stand's +2/+1 pump on top of that makes it an enormous flying threat that can close out games.

rare

Fíli the Pathfinder
Fíli the Pathfinder
Legendary Creature — Dwarf Scout

Fíli creates Dwarf tokens whenever a nontoken Dwarf enters, and Thorin's Last Stand's first mode pumps all those Dwarves for a massive alpha strike, or the second mode removes a problematic permanent while Fíli's tokens apply pressure.
